Freestyle/Greco is an excellent way for kids to learn better body position, hand fighting, and improve their offense and defense.

WHEN:

Youth: K-6th Grade

• March 29 - May 24 
• Mondays: Freestyle/Greco  6:30pm - 8:00pm
• No Practices on non school days

High School: 7th - 12th Grade

• April 13th - May 27th 
• Tuesdays and Thursdays: Freestyle/Greco 5:00 - 6:30
• No Practices on non school days and April 27th

Freestyle and Greco Roman have different rules than the American Folkstyle, but they complement each other very well.  If your wrestlers are motivated to get to the next level, this is the program to do it.  For freestyle, we work on the following:

• Advanced transitions from attacks to increase finish or exposure opportunities
• Counters and scrambling from leg attacks to either gain exposure, protect against it, and secure the takedown
• Freestyle specific short offense positions
• Par Terre (the down position) offense and defense

For Greco, we focus on:

• Fighting for the underhook position
• Two on one
• Slides and Ducks
• Backstep throws
• Backarch throws
